Yes, teaming is training. It shortens a 14 week course to 6-7 weeks. He’s getting in a lot more driving. Dealing with a lot more stuff,
I can train a monkey to hold a steering wheel straight across Texas. There’s nothing to it.

My trainer has been on the road since 1990, no accidents. It was safe for me to assume I would be alright in the back sleeping. Now me, totally untried and unproven was a different story.LoSt_AgAiN and JC1971 Thank this. -
Reading another thread it seems CFI doesn't use their trainers as team drivers. The trainer monitors your driving from the passenger seat.

Well that's just a regular tear jerker you had to do things that you didn't want to which benefited someone else in order to get something which benefited you. I'm crying for you.
Those dirty evil companies should have ran their truck as a solo truck for 2-3 months until you were ready to be on your own even if that would have costed them to do so. Companies asking you to contribute towards their profit is dirty, evil and greedy even if you are benefiting from the situation you shouldn't have to contribute anything because they owe you. So what if the end cost would just be passed along to the consumer screw them they owe you too. -
I know. It was just so wrong of me to expect a company to provide what they promised. -
No I agree with you it's wrong of them to expect anything from you which helps their profits in return for the means of getting a CDL which they provided. They owe you and should be bending over backwards simply because you showed up. Profits are evil anyway because companies who expect to profit make us have to like do stuff and it like sucks and stuff.Last edited: Jan 6, 2019

Just saying...when I first drove with a "trainer" ,I was Honestly more "Concerned" with my "own Capabilities",.I mean when you first get in the seat and they start "Barking at Ya",Get it up to 50mph",You feel like Jerry Reeds...What am I running 90? "Cmon ,grab a gear,We arent gonna make it to Minneapolis on Time! Sure trainer was a little "unbalanced",only Listened to Led Zepplin and Roy D.Mercer,& ate only Rye bread sandwiches,but,I felt "Safer" with him driving.At least he had 7 years behind the wheel.Anyway you cut it,youll at least have to ride with a trainer some(even a Daycab),before they "turn a fresh driver loose with 150k to 250k worth of equipment.Its just how it goes.

1) Who says they provided CDL training? With a small amount of effort it is easy to ovtain a CDL without company sponsorship.
2) The company is well within their rights to try and maximize their profits. So is the employee. If the employee does not like what a company offers they are free to pursue other options.
3) Companies like CR England whose business plan is based of off employee churn are bad capitalists. Successful companies tend to look at employees as partners, not meat in the seat. Read Wealth of Nations, chapter 3 or 4 I believe.
5) There are plenty of companies that don't do team training. Why ridiucle someone for trying to obtain the best employment they can get. Just because things have been done a certain way for a long time, doesn't mean its a best practice or everyone should have to endure the same experience .
