And for those of you whose calculator batteries are dead:
The good news is that Alberta is superload central, so a lot of the infrastructure is designed to make it a lot easier.

I talked to a guy that did a move like that from Calgary to Fort McMurray and return empty. He said he was on the road for seven months total for the one job.
I believed him once I watched them leave the Hanna truck stop. Took about twenty minutes just to get the rig out onto the highway.Isafarmboy, jamespmack, Tug Toy and 8 others Thank this. -
How big is it? Well, just for giggles, this is the largest private yacht in the world. It is 1 m longer.

Holy hell! That thing is gonna be crazy going down the road!! I wonder how much that move is gonna cost total and what the profit on something like this is? I mean you have to have very expensive and specialized equipment or you can't even think of attempting to do it so the market is fairly small in terms of competition but then again your not gonna move one of these every week.. Very fascinating to say the least. I'd love to be on the side of the road just watching it roll by..
jamespmack and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
If I see it on the move I'll snap some photos for ya'll!

I've always kind of wondered why they don't go beyond kilo for these large numbers. You'll use mega for megawatts, but not megagrams? 800Mg.
jamespmack and homeskillet Thank this. -
Not often you see a 4 story building a football field in length roll by .. I’ll say this it take a big set to walk beside or sit beside that load going down the road

Peach Bottom in PA near the border above Baltimore, nuclear plant received a heavy transformer assembly. Took a couple years to build in Korea, some months to ship on the water and almost a year in planning and execution of delivery of that heavy lift to the plant grounds over mostly two lane roads in rolling terrain.
I understand they used dump trucks to drop gravel etc to build up soft spots in the existing roadway in many places to get it across.
I don't know what those cost overall to get it in there, but it better last a good long time, if it went out again and need replacing, it will be years before anyone there has electricity.shakerclassic Thanks this.
