Difference is I earn mine in an open economy. Farmers and Ag drivers are taking directly(probably even food stamps) from government sources.

People shop at Walmart. Oh the horror.

By Odin you people love rabbit hole arguments when your ######## is exposed.

Except we operate in a free market. Not a government backed theft ring.

Right. So when Walmart gets tax incentives from communities to bring in facilities that's different.

The only thing I take issue with is you keep saying Ag drivers get subsidies. That is simply wrong. Unless you own a farm/ranch or are an employee of a farm/ranch subsidies have nothing to do with you. And if you are either of those you don’t even have to worry about the exemptions because hours of service don’t apply.

It is the exact same thing Clyde, a corporation getting federal dollars is a corporation getting federal dollars, doesn't matter who the middle man is or if there even is one.

Fair enough on the subsidies I suppose. Still do not see any reason for any agricultural exemption of any kind. License, HOS, Equipment, Record keeping etc etc etc

You all are missing the real reason.
Follow the money. That’s what it’s all about.

I could careless about ELDs but HOS needs to be fixed. Also slower trucks cause more accidents especially ones going 60 or less in a 70+ interstate. All trucks should be governed at 70 if anything. Also all interstates in the Country that have speed limits of 65+ should have a minimum of 60 MPH. Anything slower, find a different route. Last 10 years has been the worst, I wonder why. Mega Carriers are spitting out drivers left and right but not caring if these people are truly ready. ELDs should only be required by mega carriers or with companies that have 1,000+ trucks (just throwing out a number) since the Megas wanted them so bad. Not everyone is mad for trucking but they are trying to force people on to trucks by paying decent with fancy ####. Also a CB should be required in all trucks. No camera should be forced by company, if they want dash cams, buy ones they can’t watch whenever they’d like. I’m newer to the industry and I’m still young by I see what’s wrong with the industry and I see why the old school drivers are pissed off.

This shows how much you actually know about Ag drivers I believe you call us. You want to be taken seriously do your research before spouting off. Enough with the name calling and assumptions. Bring facts with the source of where you got them.
