I'd suggest P&D with an LTL company that isn't a union shop. If you don't mind nights, run linehaul and make more money without dealing with customers.
Bob Dobalina, Mike2633 and Fuelinmyveins Thank this. -
Something to add (and most important) talk to drivers for the companies you are looking at. Ive had a couple guys ask me questions at truck stops...although you probably won't run into any food service guys there. Good luck!
Fuelinmyveins Thanks this. -
Define normal?
Normal to me is working 70 hrs recorded plus binch of others tjay not logged as on duty like detention time. Trip planning dealing with dispatch... So about 80 hrs realy... A week/ 6 days. With only 34 hours oft before starting all over again. -
Lots of good suggestions. LTL is a great option if you can get in.
Might also want to look at garbage companies. You will be off weekends and holidays in most cases. I did roll off and it wasn't a bad job. Mostly demo work. The residential guys I talked to seemed happy though. They had early start times but were always home in time to get their kids off the bus. I worked 7 to 5 Monday though Friday. Best hours I have ever had at any job.Fuelinmyveins Thanks this. -
40 years old and youre worried about holding up? Lol. And wow, must be nice to be looking at retirement at such a young age. Only ones worthy of that IMO are military members.

Hey you never know...truck stops get food deliveries too. I’ve been delivering to Pilot at the same time as NDCP and McLane grocery. I think I’ve ran into Vistar too.localguy65, Freak_On_A_Leash, Mooseontheloose and 1 other person Thank this.

Truck stops that have a chain restaurant will get a delivery at least twice a week. I deliver to McDonald’s with Golden State Foods/Martin Brower. Good job, good cheddar!localguy65 Thanks this.
