I have a certain amount of capacity with a loaded semi on snow and so on. However I know also when enough is quite enough. Same with cars even on ice.
This trainee should do whatever is possible to get away from this trainer if he or she is scared for own life inside winter weather due to trainer's driving. Which is probably never going to stop until you have that trainer wreck really good and kill a family or something.
I don't have much else to say other than when I was training I remember times where it was necessary to stop and stay a while waiting for the weather to turn. If only to be sure that nothing bad will happen. And I remember some trainers doing some outrageous stuff as well. But it never really bothered me that much because if something bad did happen it will just kill us just as dead. There are no good or bad differences in being dead.

buddyd157 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

buddyd157 Thanks this. -
Don't make the call. -
You could be seriously injured or dead in a few days. Make the call then. You will have proof of what is (was) taking place. Reread post #7. @buddyd157 hit the nail on the head. Too much crap takes place this days because so many don’t have the spine or kahones to speak up.
Coover, buddyd157, A21CAV and 1 other person Thank this. -
You have an obligation to Swift and future students who may land in this mentor's truck to report unsafe driving habits and prevent future unsafe instruction. How would you feel if the next student in your mentor's truck died in a crash that could have been prevented with safer driving habits?
FrankVic Firth, brian991219, Kyle G. and 3 others Thank this. -
I’d just ask for a safety upgrade and get on another truck, don’t put up with a person like that.

I was forced to ride with a so called mentor 15 or so years ago, due to extended time away from truck.
First thing I did was fill out their mandatory “off truck” report. I didn’t give 2 ####s if he knew who snitched on his dumb ###.
Two things you don’t mess with, my money and my life.Spincycled and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
Don’t be a martyr, just finish your training.

Even if it kills you, right?
