Speeking of triples... I-15 N in Idaho, 108 yardstick. 3rd trailer on its side, 2nd partially in the ditch, 1st trailer and tractor couple hundred feet further down the road on shoulder.
Crappy photo... Only had a few seconds while stopped.

Triples(105 ft)have restrictions in the states they are allowed. Visibility 500ft, winds 40 mph and roads free of ice and snow. Oregon pulls them Washington doesn't.

Can someone please explain to me the triples rule as far as getting them to the turnpike? I always thought you could only build and break triple sets on the larger parking areas next to a turnpike, but I see them going through KC on the Missouri side all the time. And it’s by the larger LTL carriers and Foodservice suppliers so I wouldn’t THINK they’d be like “oh well we’re close enough &#@% it”. Maybe each state and municipality is different I was just curious.

They have break down areas at most exit/entrances and rest areas on most turnpikes. The ones/ states that allow long doubles and trips.okiedokie Thanks this.

I've run p&d pulling trains. Start at 1 end of the state and end up at the other border. Had trailers scattered all over the state. What a guy will do for a buck.
motocross25 Thanks this. -
Right. I guess I should’ve been clearer in my question. I was more wondering if there were provisions to said rule in certain instances or municipalities. Where I’m seeing these sets sometimes is more than 10 miles away. But maybe that is a designated route and it’s closer than I think. Idk just nosey is all. I asked a guy at my terminal who sometimes pulls double 53’s about it and all he says is “well if you keep moving a lot of times you won’t get in any trouble”.
Ok great that’s good advice!
