That was me. I'm still thankful our driver had the sense to give me a call before he tried to load...and tie down...that mess.
A tarp might have worked but can you picture crawling up and walking around on top of an unstable load 14 feet high trying to get your v-boards to stay in place so you can crawl back down and throw straps and double-cross the front and the back?
Nope. I get the willies just thinking about everything that could have gone wrong with that load.
We try real hard not to ever be the lead story on the six o'clock news.Lepton1, Highway Sailor, D.Tibbitt and 9 others Thank this. -
...Unless the pails are flush with the edges of the pallets and I have corner guards like those who haul block use.
That’s the only way I’d consider hauling 5 gallon pails on a flatbed. -
It was decided that the thread’s OP was a retread and a troll, and therefore didn’t need to see the results of his trolling.

“Yeah my trailer has a dump valve. It’ll turn on a dime.”Tug Toy, bigguns, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this. -
Beyond stupid thinking and actions by this type of driver is the exact reason people can not except us as a professional driver. Everybody want respect today......how about earning it rather then just wanting it.
Lepton1, misterG, bigguns and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ve been driving truck 22 years come June and they didn’t respect us back then either. We sold the cows and dad started driving in 86, he complained then about the way they were treated. I don’t think these mythical days of truck drivers being loved ever existed.
In my opinion the idiots that get out on the two lanes and run 45 on perfectly safe roads and screw around at intersections do more damage than anything else. I’m a driver, there’s an intersection I come through depending on the direction I go to work. I go east on a state route then turn north on another one, the northbound route is a busy on but it’s good road. When I approach that intersection and I see a northbound freighthauler go through I drop my head because 9 times out of 10 they screw around the whole 15 miles I’m on that road. It’s to busy to pass so we just sit there a lollygag. It’s the very reason that people pull out in front of trucks and pass where they shouldn’t. Like I said I’m a driver and it tempts me because I don’t want to be stuck behind them. -
No argument here on that. LOL
