All i know is that night transportation is always running ads in our local paper looking for drivers.
-
As a former Knight I agree they will not ruin the industry. I've been driving since the late 70s so I guess I would know one or two things about the buisness. But "doing what needs to be done to feed your family now they are a problem" might wanna rethink that part of the statement. I left knight because I couldnt feed the family, I ran 4100 miles last week and I get home once a week for at least a 34 hr restart and usally for two days. I agree that knight is not for everyone, but please dont think a driver should let his family go without, to avoid being a problem. That part of the statement shouldnt even have been brought up.

what company do you work for where you can get 4100 miles in a week and be home for a 34 hour restart. please respond

I am looking for a new company right now. I called the Eagan MN terminal and spoke to them. They are hiring out of there but I can't get on.
Problems with my previous to much to get into. Needless to say they caused it, set me up, I got terminated. Turned in all my logs "LEGAL" and all trip information to clear me of any wrong doing. No response, of course.
Now I am being black balled in a way. Hello layers fees.
No one will hire me after a termination and I am just short of my two years. I have 196,000 under me in paid miles over the last 1 1/2 years not including the 28,660 in them training.
I was hoping Knight would be my savior-not! -
well what ive seen is if we terminated even if its not our fault our driving careers anre nearly dead and it blows. i was thinking of going to eeoc first then a lawyer.

Well thats a ringing endorsement for OTR trucking. Too bad it is so true.
Drive safe -
No it just means it won't be as easy to get a job as the last time.
Getting a Job is all about effort. It is easy to fill out a online form and get on a bus. The thing many drivers fail to realize is that in the real world most have to go to many interviews in person and apply at several places to get hired for any job of any worth.
If your record ain't so good then try the face to face approach to get hired like most of society does. If your termination is due to a safety or integrity concern it will have to be a non- dac job or their policies will not allow them to hire you sight unseen. -
I never called anyone a rookie. Truth be known alot of today's rookies do it better than alot of those so called long term pro's. I only want the best for everyone and these companies are taking advantage of their drivers and it needs to stop.

That's right! The best jobs are the ones that are hard to get. The companies that never hire are the ones to apply at. It's something like what restaurant you want to eat at. Would you take your family to a $5 dollar buffet or spend a little extra for a cleaner more frendly atmosphere. It makes a big difference who sits at the table next to ya. As far as your driving record. Keeping it clean is also an effort. You may have to show up in court and spend some money or just call and talk to the soliciter. I had a big ticket on my record and I called the dmv a few times. A few weeks later it wasn't there anymore.Baack Thanks this.
