A lot of Walmart haters here for some reason...makes me wonder, do y'all not qualify? Did Walmart turn you down? Fire you? I've always heard that Walmart was the premier job in this industry, but it's some hatorade going on here

There's a lot of Wal-Mart haters on the internet, from WM hates truckers to Hatchet man cuts pay..etc..come to think of it WM in Sunderland Va.is one of two places I've had frieght stolen off my truck. You have to use their lumpers and drivers aren't allowed in the whse.2 cases of canola butter taken by a plumper that weighed well over 300 lbs."I didn't take them" he tells me when I went to check the frieght.I could see where the shrink wrap had been pulled to get the cases.I forgot about that.Restaurant depot in Pittsburgh was the other place that robbed me,they took 2 cases of shrimp,50lbs each, that belonged to Restaurant depot in Chicago. They all got caught when I went back to get it.NG,lose your job over some seafood, duh. That WM creep got away with it.Bad Word

I drove 125,000 miles. We also get paid for each stop and to sleep in the truck. My pay averaged 88cpm.Tombstone69 and Coover Thank this.

You know, I thought that for many years, but as it turns out, those people that had those small businesses, now work for Walmart, make more money, less time, and have better benefits. And it's so convenient, you can get bicycle tires and oranges in one stop. I think it's great. Living in the boonies, I'd have to go 75 miles to get everything Walmart has.

Not when you are paid demiurge, layover and other benefits, it’s very possible.
-
If you're paid layover then you're not driving. Layover usually doesn't exceed what you'd make in a driving day. So layover reduces your income, not increases it.rank Thanks this.

Wal-Mart definitely has the bargains.Their deal is they buy bulk(obviously),and their perishables they buy closer to the expiration date. When I was bringing them butter and cheese, the exp.date was 3mos.,while other chains were 6-9 months. Also if you can't meet their price, they don't care, they won't deal. They also have their own farms.A close friend of mine does pricing for them and they have a set profit on everything and If they can't make it,they won't deal. That's why you can't get a lot of major brands.

You're paid layover for sleeping in the truck above and beyond whatever you made that day, every night. Things here are different than every other trucking company.
Cant understand how everyone who has never worked here knows more, and tells the WM PF drivers they are wrong
Leftlane101, Gettnerdone, rank and 4 others Thank this.
