I have no arrest record. I have a decent driving record. I have five years of previous ten wheeler flatbed experience. No drugs or alcohol issues. I applied to 6 companies to complete my CDL A, then start driving for them. Just today I received rejections from Prime, Millis and Wilson. Prime never contacted me so I don't know why I was declined. Feeling things are not going my way for a driving job. I guess they have enough drivers and the news about a shortage is hype.
Declined by three schools/companies just today

Try Abilene Motor Express; they'll probably just put you with a trainer for a couple of trips, then turn you loose in your own truck.
Trucks run 72 mph.
Trainer lives in Lake Wales.

If Abilene doesn't work, try these that hire in Florida:

This is the slower season, they can just be trying to keep what is working busy.
Rideandrepair, Tb0n3 and Puppage Thank this. -
Possibly it’s because you’re from Florida maybe try Florida based companies

I had an accident in December of 2016, in my car, no truck or company vehicle. The citation was dismissed in court at the Police Officer's request. Millis told me I had a gap in my employment history that was "too long, greater than 6 months". Florida is a no fault state, but it looks like that doesn't matter. Oh well, nothing I can do about the past.
