I got my CDL and I never went to any school nor work for any company.
Studied the written test , pass the test, get your permit , help someone to drive , learn the pti.... go to the DMV and take the pti and driving test .

I like this idea. The challenge would be to find someone I can drive/train with. Not an impossible task.

Oh, I thought you already have a cdl. It will be extremely difficult these days to be hired without a cdl school certificate. In the past it was easy with no school certificate, but today it's very difficult.
Here's a couple to apply to for school:
    CFI - www.cfidrive.com
    Stevens Transport - www.stevenstransport.com
Cypress Truck Lines - www.cypresstruck.com - New drivers will head to one of our facilities in Jacksonville or Tampa, Fla., Smyrna, Ga., Abilene, Texas, or Wilmington, N.C., for training.

My guess is living in Fl. Most companies have a hard time getting you home. The 6 mo gap spooks them also. Best go to community college if possible. Keep working meanwhile. One way or another you’ll get there. Those Megas are just going to waste your time anyway. Indentured servitude and financial strings attached. Bunch of theives
