"However, employers of non-CDL drivers must still comply with the driver investigation requirements of § 391.23(e), which includes drug and alcohol violation history."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
So, if you're delivering pizza's in a car or driving a pickup truck delivering auto parts to a garage or driving a car as an employee on a construction site, you must comply with drug & alcohol regulations the same as a CDL driver.Badmon Thanks this. -
We need to demand all politicans and government employees follow same rules.
Dino soar, scottied67, PE_T and 4 others Thank this. -

Yep, absolutely. When politicians and government employees are subject to the same rules they create it would be a new era, this should be the new amendment IN THE CONSTITUTION.Snailexpress and misterG Thank this.

I do not like the idea at all but this needs to be done with fairness to everyone, big business has taken control and the people are sitting back saying woe is us. Some of what they go after is medicine really, that solves more problems than what it causes. We need to give the politicians a reality check.
Badmon Thanks this. -
Nope, they are referring to non-CDL commercial drivers driving commercial vehicles as defined in 390.5.Badmon Thanks this.
-
They are talking about the guys that run vehicles in the 10,001 to 26,000 lbs gvwr range. I.e. when it's considered a cmv, but not a cdl required cmv.
I.e. your pizza and parts delivery drivers don't count, but your box truck appliance delivery guys and (usually) mobile repair guys do.Chinatown Thanks this. -
