Yes the stock Detroit manifolds are junk. They all leak at the slip joints in less then a year....
Bully dog manifolds are made by full tilt. Pitts power manifolds are also supplied by full tilt... excellent product and never leak. Will last the life of your engine. Pdi I wouldn't bother..........Elroythekid and spsauerland Thank this. -
They do look like 3 piece but it says pressed together so no leaks. I'll call Pittsburg power Monday. They are $150 cheaper. I'm not looking for high performance just non leak.

Then purchase a full tilt, Pitts power or whatever of those aftermarket performance brand manifolds is the best buy. They do not leak.
Elroythekid Thanks this. -
I've noticed lots of people complaining about leaking manifolds on the Detroit 60 series and Cat C15/16 engines. Was there an issue with these engines that caused the manifolds to leak to quickly? Sure hope manufacturers have solved the leaking manifold problem on modern engines. Anyone know if modern engines chew through manifolds like the Cats and Detroit 60s did?

Just put a full tilt manifold on. No more problems.
