No, I did not see any coolant in the oil. I saw coolant leaking on the ground on the snow and the oil was coming all out from the dipstick.

    Elroythekid and Lepton1 Thank this.

If it's inside overnight, whatever froze up - either breather or crankcase filter - may have thawed out.
Check the oil for coolant, if you see coolant in oil - stop.
If not, top it off, and start it up.
Let it get up to temp.
Your problem may have fixed itself.
If it was outside in the freeze; get the shop to put a torpedo heater pointing under cab, half hour or so.
    Make sure oil/coolant is full.
    Then try it.
    Let us know the results.

    Lepton1 and TopDog20 Thank this.

It was -30 I disconnected the vent pipe at a joint closer to the rnhine heat, topped up the oil, and drive to a warmer place! The vent just got too much sludge mixed with some condensation and froze. The crankcase needs to vent the pressure somewhere so it pushed it up the dipstick pipe. When the oil is full it's above the bottom of the dipstick tube so it pushed oil out until it's not.
Edit. If you saw coolant leaking you need to pressure test the coolant system and see where it's leaking from. ALWAYS check the reeve point on your coolant before every winter.

Just a slight correction, if you don't mind, the bottom of the dipstick tube is usually a minimum of four inches above the oil level this is to prevent oil from traveling up the tube.

Somewhere along the line I think Someone must’ve put the wrong dipstick in my M11. When I took the pan off to roll in new bearings it was obvious the crankshaft was in the oil when the oil was topped up

O yea when you put in the correct amount of oil and run it for a few min. then put a full mark on the dip stick so you know when to add oil?

I ended up taking a leap of faith and having this mechanic go ahead and work on the truck. I now have to come up with over $5000 in the repair bill for the head gasket. I hope that the repair shop has a good reputation although there is one bad posting on them that has me worried. Some guy claiming he brought truck in for a replacement of radiator hose and the shop ended up charging him over $3000 in repairs. Anyone in Des Moines IA heard of Absolute Repair? This shop is in Cummings IA.

No, I had to take their word for it. I couldn't stay there with my truck because I had a load to deliver back in New Jersey, so I rented a truck and took the load so I could deliver on time. I am basically at their mercy because the other option was to haul it back to jersey and either way I was looking to spend at least $4000 by bringing it home and having it fixed here.
