A solid core foam rubber mattress [that’s not fire-retarded] is extremely dangerous once ignited and will burn long enough to get the rest hot enough to burn. Also any vinyl, plastics, fabrics, rubber floor matting and padding is very flammable and extremely difficult to combat once stated, and very noxious.

Not sure why trucks don’t have to meet the same fire retardant specs as aircraft.

Bean Jr. and Rideandrepair Thank this.

I would be willing to bet a incab webasto heater to be at fault.
When I was driving the trainer was deathly concerned about the webasto heater having been left on.
He darned near had a wreck because of concern of the "if the green light was on"

There are good reasons for not shutting a diesel down until it has idled a few minutes but fire prevention is not one of them, there is no risk of fire inherent to shutting off a hot diesel engine.

Thank you, that was a joke. Besides, that was a long time ago during the old "Clatterpillar" days. Probably nothing wrong shutting off a newer diesel these days.

My guess would be a poorly wired or over drawn inverter.
