We have a 1999 T-800 at work. Last week it would not start. The buzzers, lights and all, would all be dim when the key is turned on. It would not start. After waiting awhile, with the key on , the buzzers and lights would get full juice, and it would start.
We cleaned off the battery posts, and there are two relays of some sort on the inside of the battery box. We cleaned them up as well. I'm wondering if one of those solenoids is faulty, or the actual ignition switch.
I'm not sure where the power goes to from the batteries, but it seems like the power is being interuped along the way to the starter, and until it totally quits we may not be able to solve the problem.
Anyone ever have a similar problem?

dont forget there is a relay on the firewall for the starter which I had to lengthen one of the wires on my T800 same year as it was pulled apart because it was too short from factory
Baack and bulldozerbert Thank this. -
Where on the firewall? I kinda looked, but didn't think I saw one. The solaniod that I am used to seeing on the International's firewall , is in the battery box of this KW.
I will have a better look.
It could be a simple case of corrosion from salt in one of the main wires somewhere as well I guess. -
I looked at mine this morning and the relay is less than a foot above the rocker cover right in the middle of the firewall
