No more New England Motor Freight, they filed bankruptcy.

I just hope all those guys hitting the unemployment line aren't being treated unfairly.

 

They were offering 15k for linehaul here in nj.

 

Central has a bunch of new equipment tractors and trailers here in Ohio they got rid of a lot of there junk. I mean it's only a matter of time till there new junk gets junked up, but the old garbage they used to have a lot of it's been sent to the scrap yard. One guy around here uses an Old Central Sterling (can't believe the truck even functions.) to haul containers with.

 

From what a driver told me, NEMF is paying them 2 months worth of wages and medical benefits. So not a bad deal.

The company wasn't in altogether bad shape, they just got tired of the losses and decided enough was enough. The Chapter 11 filing was just so they could wind down the operations in an orderly manner.

 

No we are getting our medical till April paid and we get our vacation and personal days paid. But we erned them so we are really not getting anything.

 

Yea, I think they were at the freight poker table and just decided to fold their hand and walk away from the game. The union will take a hit but also some shippers esp Amazon, which will now have to hastily re-sign contracts with other carriers at higher rates. But then again, if NEMF couldn't handle the freight, they shouldn't have taken on the business.

 

We didn't do much more Amazon. December of 2018 we had over 100 trailers loaded in Leighton waiting to go to the Amazon dc.

 

Nobody on this thread can just asume what they thought was going on. I was on linehaul there untill this past Tuesday.

 

So? The "he said", "she said" is a moot point. The home truths are that the doors are closed and NEMF has faded into history. That's all that really matters for yourself and the rest of the men. Wish all you guys the best in your future endeavors.
