Another thing in the PA law is that unless using radar (i.e. State Police) you have to be going at least 6 mph over the limit to get a ticket. But if you want something interesting read how PA defines 'racing', it encompasses more things than you can imagine, and it's not what you think it is.
Title 75
§ 3368. Speed timing devices.
(c) Mechanical, electrical and electronic devices authorized.--
(1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, the rate of speed of any vehicle may be timed on any highway by a police officer using a mechanical or electrical speed timing device.
(2) Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (3), electronic devices such as radio-microwave devices, commonly referred to as electronic speed meters or radar, may be used only as part of an automated speed enforcement system or by members of the Pennsylvania State Police.
(3) Electronic devices which calculate speed by measuring elapsed time between measured road surface points by using two sensors and devices which measure and calculate the average speed of a vehicle between any two points may be used by any police officer.
(4) No person may be convicted upon evidence obtained through the use of devices authorized by paragraphs (2) and (3) unless the speed recorded is six or more miles per hour in excess of the legal speed limit. Furthermore, no person may be convicted upon evidence obtained through the use of devices authorized by paragraph (3) in an area where the legal speed limit is less than 55 miles per hour if the speed recorded is less than ten miles per hour in excess of the legal speed limit. This paragraph shall not apply to evidence obtained through the use of devices authorized by paragraph (2) or (3) within a school zone or an active work zone.
(5) Light detection and ranging devices, commonly referred to as LIDAR, may be used only as part of an automated speed enforcement system or by members of the Pennsylvania State Police.Last edited: Feb 18, 2019
Pumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
Similar to weigh scales. These measuring devices are not dead balls accurate, which (as Mona Lisa Vito will tell you) is an industry term. IIRC PA gives you 3% and NY 4% on weight

If you are out here for the money your in the wrong business. So This is me letting you know I don’t do this for the money. One of those things if you have to ask, then you’ll never get it.
-
Duh im here for the money. If i wasnt here to pay the bills i wouldnt have anything i WANT. So its all about your out here because your heart is on the road? Then please donate your entire paycheck to a good charity.Trucker61016 and roshea Thank this.

Let me rephrase my comment, yes i like my job, i like what i do as its not for everyone and i put this truck and my skills to the test everyday im good at what i do. But if the money dried up, im not sticking around for free.
I personally like to give to any brain cancer organization that looks to fight and cure Glioblastoma multiform, as that is what took my father. Theres my recommendation. But penndot will also like your money. -
Well now I just feel bad.
-
Well dont. We're on the internet, we dont see or know each other. Anything that is typed can and will be taken out of context most of the time.
I dont mean to make you feel bad, but if were talking smack, might as well try and get a donation to a brain cancer organization(because #### brain cancer).
The glioblastoma post is real, but i could have said donate it to tree hugging hippies of California(dont know if thats real).
Not that that excuses my behavior or anyones, but only the poster of said comments knows the emotion behind any comments and you cant possibly understand if the comment goes one way or the other without hearing voice, tone, emotion...
Tact, and holding back what you want to say verse what you should say avoids a lot of bans on TTR i would imagine.
P.s. im guilty of all charges as well for what i just posted.not4hire Thanks this. -
Thank you for this. I got stopped on I 80 in PA in my car for going 74 in a 70 zone, as I was driving home from Iowa. Drove through Ohio at 76 - 78 mph the whole way with state patrol every 10 miles and never stopped.
As soon as I saw the first leo, I got pulled over. I thought he was being nice for writing me just a warning ticket....now I know why. It is a southern car, and was heavily tinted when I bought it. I lowered the front passenger window all the way, so he could see into the car. He repeated twice that the speed limit is 70 mph, as we talked. He wanted to know where I was traveling from and to.
I figured he pulled me over because of the tinted windows and was looking for evidence of drugs....once he ran my plates and saw an old fart behind the wheel with a cdl, he figured I wasn’t to much of a danger to the general public.
So what is this law about racing?rolls canardly, roshea, Blackshack46 and 1 other person Thank this.
