I have a 06 Western Star 4900FA with a C15 Cat that when you turn the key off the lights in the dash readout and the datastar stay on, also if the truck was running it will not die when the key is shut off. I have changed the key switch but that didn't cure the problem does anyone have any suggestions as to what to check next?

You need to look for a stuck relay, probably marked ign.

If there are no markings, start pulling relays when the truck /dash dies, switch it with something the same size. If it starts working right, replace the bad one

I second this. Almost guaranteed to be the power relay.

Okay everybody I have checked all of the relay's and fuses and still have the problem, truck will not die when the key is shut off and part of the instrimate cluster lights still stay on.

If while the truck was running, pulled each relay individually and wasn’t able to get the engine/dash to shut down, then you have a wire shorted to power.

There’s a couple ways you can attack this, the Easiest way to explain is to, with the truck idling, start wiggling the wire harness from the engine ecm to cab, through the cab to your fuse panel, and your ignition switch.

Is there any chance the starter solenoid is stuck?
