In the next couple of months my wife and I will be relocating to Austin Texas from FL. I would’ve much rather preferred San Antonio or Dallas for trucking jobs but she is in the technology field and can easily find employment in Austin (and probably make more than what I’ll ever make as a driver). What are good local trucking jobs that I can get in the Austin area?! Will companies take it against me that I just moved to TX and not consider me for local?

When my wife and I were looking for a new place to live, it narrowed down to Austin or Las Vegas.
Austin is a great place for people in the tech fields; kind of like a smaller version of Silicon Valley.
    Plenty of local jobs there:
Southeastern Freight Lines > Apply On Company Site
Averitt Express > Apply On Company Site
Thunder Ridge Transport > Statement of Driver Eligibility — Thunder Ridge Transport Inc.
Oldcastle APG > Apply On Company Site
Sysco - $76K per year > Apply On Company Site
Sysco - $92Kper year > Apply On Company Site
Kenan Advantage Group - Apply On Company Site

There are a number of national flatbed outfits that are strong in Texas and would have no problem with a driver living in Travis county.

There’s also a few good company driver positions for respectable aggregate haulers. You’ll first need to find local truck parking yards and from there you can look around at the trucks that are parking there. Most will be lease ops but a few will be company drivers.

LTL companies are hiring in Austin. The US mail is hiring drivers in the Austn area as well .I live in Austin and the job situation is always good , low unemployment and low crime but terrible traffic. Good luck

Hi! I don’t know if you find a place yet but I found one with austinhousingtour.com ! Since I was in France I could not tour and they tour for you, maybe they can help you. So convenient for people not in austin for touring. Anyway, good luck ;)

Local in Austin and bellydumps go hand and hand, should be plenty of work to go around, even for you furiners. lol Austin don't care or hold it against you because of where you came from.
heck they just made it a sanctuary city, people don't know or remember it, but Austin declared them (for a very short while) a sanctuary city over 30 years ago. That place has always been nuts.
Lots ot the tech business is actually out of Austin in several smaller towns, hopefully you will not have to physically be or even go into Austin proper to live or work.
