Yeah but that's not their call, it isn't much of a choice if you tell them the truck isn't moving.
I wonder if your rental plus the towing of the truck and all the time lost is going to cost you more than the load?

So what if it does, it is part of providing exceptional customer service. Besides, I would not want to do a repower with my own trailer, which the OP has said it is his own trailer. Exactly. And besides it would suck to get blacklisted from a broker you like and have them potentially make a mark against your company on carrier411. A lot of brokers read that website and it can affect multiple relationships at that point.
Plus, if it takes a little while for the repair it’s not like he can’t go and do other loads to build more revenue.
If it’s repowered, what happens to the trailer after it’s delivered? Gotta pay to bring it back to you? How much is that going to be? Letting the freight sit and saying heck with it is very short sighted IMO.Farmerbob1, TallJoe and brian991219 Thank this. -
Update:
So I went with the Penske truck rental. It was a 5k deposit. I tried getting the truck on a Sunday, but my insurance (broker?) was completely closed. The delivery appointment, which was originally scheduled for Monday, had to be changed to Tuesday. It looks like I will need a bigger insurance company so I can make simple changes to my insurance policy on weekends.
The whole Penske transaction went pretty well. It was a bit of an adventure, and I have to say it was nice using paper logs. Hahaha.brian991219, TallJoe and nikmirbre Thank this. -

Oh, yeah. They changed two (coolant) temperature sensors. I noticed one of them was the sensor on the coolant reservoir. The bill was $672. Both the sensors were about $50 in total. The truck was ready in a day and half.

Now that I remember, when I got set up with Penske, they did not require at the moment my insurance certificate to match their requirements. I am in the process of figuring out with my insurance how much difference would it be to keep Penske insurance requirements as they are higher than mine, in particular, the 120k physical damage. If the difference isn’t high, I may just keep the 120k physical damage permanently on my insurance to facilitate the Penske truck rental process. My insurance agent told me the Penske insurance change would only be for one week, but will quote me also for the remainder of my policy.brian991219 Thanks this.
