Im an Ex SN driver.....I was there when they first started putting the Detroit series 60 engines in the International cabovers.....lots of problems with the flexible rubber intake hoses popping off! We' go to shop....theyd glue the hose on to intake .....then as soon as,we'd throttle up, POP! go back, repeat.....I think Detroit came up with a hard , plastic pipe eventually......

So how's everyone doing, former pumpkins?

I'm still struggling to sleep during the day, but at least I got a nice raise recently. Makes the pill go down a little easier. Lol

My day in a nutshell. Got a level 2 by Ohio's finest. passed it, made 100 bucks though at least. Plus the 2 HOURS pay for sitting there. yes, I said 2 hours for a dang level 2. I also strongly disagree with the idea of a roadside inspection with a flammable load on a 70 mph 2 lane at the Crest of a hill but whatever. Im just a dumb driver right? Other than that things have been pretty good.

I've been staying out longer than I'd prefer but there isnt too much money or consistency in the local work right now so it is what it is. Alot of the must get home, cant pack a hotel bag guys are sitting home at least one workday a week. Tank yanking in winter take what you can get right? I'd rather make money. Correction... I need to make money. Other than that, I can't complain a whole lot other than my keester cant seem to get used to the Peterbilt seat. Volvo, Mack, Freightliner I can run the 700 miles and not even think about my ###. after 150 miles in my truck, I can barely stand up when I step out for a walk around. Although, I guess if that's my biggest problem right now, I'm not doing too bad huh.

Today I'm loading in Kenton, OH. Literally next door to the IP plant I ran out of at Schneider. Sure feels funny being back but on the wrong side of the fence. or is it the right side? Also was told Schneider Bulk had a massive spill here yesterday.

Only you can say whether it is the right or wrong side of the fence. But for me? Every time I see a Schneider driver, I strike up a conversation and see how they are treating the drivers. And I'm always doing that from the right side of the fence.

Very well put. I was able to get in early enough to have breakfast with my buddy who is still the yard mechanic for Schneider here. he says nothing at all has changed since I left back in 17.

A lot has changed since I quit in 2007, but not for the good.

This one of 2 Trucks I drive, the other being it's sister truck and a undecaled trailer. It was supposed to be mine alone, but my boss decide to make me a slip seater and give my truck to someone else and my shift. So I work Graves sunday and monday, get tuesday off, then work a mid afternoon shift wed and thurs and get friday and saturday off(as much as you can call it off, I have to bu at 2am sunday morning) every shift is 13+ hours, most of the time 14-15, with a few 20's and one 24 hour. We haul milk and fall under agriculture rules so HOS goes out the window if we stay under the air mile radius. Get paid by the load. 4 day work week and gross $1280. I could work more, but I still really irritated that they took my schedule away and took a day from and put me on a split shift where I work two different shifts every week. So they can suck it, when they get behind. I'll do my 4 days and go home.
