    That was more of a general observation about company routing more than anything. 395 in that case is not an unreasonable or silly route but I saw many that were because they technically saved a few miiles.

    @kemosabi49 I need to get to Crescent City, CA driving on i80 now. What route would you recommend after Susanville?
    I see continue on CA 36 to Red Bluff I5 or going north 89 to CA44 to i5. Or just keep going in CA 89 as you did since I need to head North in i5 anyway. A 53" FB

    The truck gps is offering to take CA36 to Redding, I5 and then CA299 to the shore. Google says CA36-CA89-i5 North to CA 199 and then drive South on 199. I'm just super confused how twisty CA299 looks on the maps. Both show about the same time which is less accurate for Google, accordingly
