In N/A you got sightly downrated engines (Maybe because your stricter emissions laws). The maximum rating for the MX-11 in Europe is 455 hp with 1750lbf-ft torque and the same thing goes with the MX-13, with a max of 530 hp and 1918 lbf-ft torque.
But talking seriously, in that application (Off-highway trucks), the weight is less important than the versatility of the high power engine and its higher dependability.Last edited: Mar 1, 2019

engine choice is tricky thing on construction trucks.
11l engine is good for city or when used without trailer
13l is in my eyes best choice, give better startability, small are too nervous while starting, under high load better fuel efficiency, 500+ will be good for low-loader works. even people who are at 130+k lbs will opt for this
15-16l is tricky because lot of empty run will result with bad fuel economy, maintanance will be more expensive
and most probably you will have lot of problems with dpf. -
Have to double check, but I don't Paccar will allow specing MX without engineering approval if over 120,000 lb.

342k possible for dd13 here. on 264k it works surprisingly good, of course it cant hold up with dd16 in terms of average speeddaf105paccar and spsauerland Thank this.

So what I gather is Kenworth does not deem the MX good enough for its flagship truck or for its trucks that do actual, real work.

It's 70,000Kg (154,000 Lbs) Here in Australia.....
