looks like I am S.O.L. 3 interviews and everyone of them asked me about any past dui's. Said that it is standard procedure now to check. The insurance on these large carriers wont cover 3. I was excited too. The online interview only asked about a 5-7 driving hx involving any major offenses. But was asked did i ever have any and or suspension of license. I put the last one in 1983. Regardless, Celadon recruiter said they now check anyway. Insurance is making them do it. BUT...I did get through to a couple of small family owned lines on the phone. At least one of them said you need a updated three yr driving record. NO PROBLEM. Waiting on a call back from the other one before going on to school. However, the major carriers all told me there is a LIFETIME ban on 3 again due to insurance. Oh well.... Thanks for the responses though. Scott

Well, just mean you won't work for a mega. Plenty of small outfits will hire you.
One driver on here had 12 fender benders and was hired by a one truck operation and said he's making decent money doing west coast turnarounds. He found that job on Craigslist.

Ya don't give up yet. Check smaller outfits around your area. There's enough guys in trucks with a not so glorious past that I know you can find a job somewhere

I was always under the impression that violations went away after a certain period of years.

It seems like after 911 things started showing up that hadn't shown up for years, and now when I go to get a driving record, they ask if I want one for insurance (5 years) or a lifetime record. I started driving in the 70's and was pretty much an outlaw for years, I am not sure I could carry the stack of paper required for a lifetime record out of the dmv. I have thought about getting it just for chits and grins though.
