    Here’s some info that you might find useful;

    I worked there from 2016-2017 in that very terminal and in that very same position.

    The advertised compensation sounds pretty decent.

    The ‘catch’ is that you will not be getting very many miles.
    The runs are all advertised as going up into central Maine and back but many of the runs that you will get will be more local; sometimes as little as 50 miles per day.
    And it will take you the better part of a day to do those 50 miles, considering pick up at the railyard, driving through town, delivering, getting loaded or unloaded and driving back to the railyard in Worcester (next to Shrewsbury).

    In this position, you will, in reality, only gross about $800.00 a week; after taxes and insurance, take home will be between $500.00-$700.00 a week.

    This position used to advertise “up to $90,000 per year” in regards to income; after working there for a bit, I contacted recruiting in Green Bay, Wisconsin and I told them that these advertised figures were totally false and unrealistic for all drivers, regardless of time with the company.
    Recruiting did a bit of research (like contacting all the other drivers) and realized that the advertised figures were way, way off. They then lowered the figures way down in an effort to be more ‘accurate’ in advertised income expectations.

    Also, there have been many problems with the office personnel in that terminal and the turnover rate is very high. When I was there, the terminal manager was Sandy, (I believe that she’s still there) and she was a big reason as to why people were leaving; between her and the very low pay, to most drivers (as well as to other dispatchers that had to work side by side with her), the job just wasn’t worth it. This job was easily replaced with something else. Hence the high turnover rate and the constant need for new drivers. There’s always positions open at that terminal.

    In anticipation of any future posts that may try to counterpoint my remarks here, keep in mind that your best source of information would be to take a drive to the terminal in Shrewsbury and talk to the drivers. No problem; it’s a decent sized place and you can park your personal vehicle and walk around a bit and speak to the drivers. Ask them about actual real miles and real pay. Ask them how long they have been working there. And ask them about how they are treated by the terminal management.

    ummm they are trying to hire "jet setters" drivers around my area to go and help them out on their high turnover areas... I was offered that position one of the guys I spoke to literally told me that they brought him out of retirement just to do help them out and the northeast is a big chunk of his travels

    So yea that position was going to pay .52cpm. which I'm currently getting doing otr. So that would cut my pay in half or so. I expect maybe .60cpm for only working 4 days not .52
