It was in the "Contract " that the clock doesn't start ticking until you've upgraded from TNT training from a "B" seat driver to an "A" seat driver.

Something easily overlooked and forgotten in haste to "get out there" where the rubber meets the road. That then is inconventletly pointed out, once you've already made the mistake. Something Prime is remiss in pointing out when one volunteers to stay on the truck.

Backing is can be one of the more difficult things to master, as well as one of the more difficult things to train someone On?

Added to this is the common misconception that just because someone is an OUTSTANDING driver means they're potentially an outstanding Trainer.

    NOT AT ALL TRUE

Then there's the all too often the case of individual getting themselves caught up in a (F)lease and needing to increase their cash flow for obvious (or not so obvious) reasons, and become trainers.

As I understand It? To become a trainer at Prime (now) all one needs is three months? Or so I've been told?

A hand pallet Jack used in many warehouses backs similar to a tractor trailer ,just use a little imagination, well maybe more than a little.

So here are a few more questions.
Have you been released by doctor to go back to work.
What is Primes return to work procedure?
Do you believe that you have not been fully trained for a solo or A seat driver?
If yes, then what would be the minimum training that should get you to a that point.

During this time with a trainer, did you have any documentation on your training schedule and activities that was completed by both you and trainer? Something that said how, what, when as well as comments concerning your progress?

Did you talk to this trainer about your concerns that you may not be getting the time and opportunities to practice and perform various maneuvers needed in order to complete your training?

When you started to consider that you may not be receiving the proper and complete training you thought it should be, did you talk to any one with in managment concerning this situation? You should have had a person at the corporate office who was overseeing the training, did you ever speak with them?

I don't know who told you that being a B-seat doesn't count towards your contract. Maybe it has changed, but when I went through Prime I stayed 6 months with a trainer and 7 months solo before I quit and have never heard a thing about the contract.

The short answer to MOST of your questions is NO.

I say NO is that there would be some yes~no~grey area answers to MOST of your questions, in that I DID discuss them with my trainer on repeated occasions but DIDN'T address them with anyone other than him, which I should have.

If there's any training check list? Its unbeknownst to me? There very well may be But it would be on his side and not mine.

I f""feel" I've be marginally trained in many but not any all aspects of becoming a professional, commercial truck driver.

I say the above with the added qualifying remark that ~ "A LOT of the knowledge, experience, training that one needs to become a professional commercial truck driver?

Is self taught, self acquired over time.

There are just sone things that while can be learned? Can't be taught Someone can attempt to describe it, show you photos, Power Point Presentations, videos, etc all day long? But your simply aren't going to "get it" or it's not going to "click" until you actually EXPERIENCE it.

For want of a better example? Sex comes to mine, LOL?

I see in hindsight that I should have addressed my concerns with training and safety a long time ago.

I'm probably looking at another week or so before going back to the Dr. Then I'll probably be classified as light duty. I've a back injury, (fractured vertebra), work related.

Unsure as to what will happen at that point.

I'm inclined to request a "finishing trainer" with soneone who has the patience and temperament to allow me the opportunity to back. From there go solo, and progress via the various suggestions here on this thread.

Ultimately I would like to progress enough to where I could "home base " out of Mississippi . At least until I gain enough experience (1 ~ 2 + years experience ) to where I would be able to find a better "fit"

I've seen and heard from so many. They say they didn't learn diddily in training. More of an introduction. Where they really learned is when they got out there themselves and did it on their own. Nobody to depend on for nothing.
I understand what you mean on training. Would like to get good training. You're more critical of yourself than they can comprehend. (I'm like that)
Heck.... I had no training to speak of. All my first company did was try to get me to goof up. So they could report they; "checked him out".
I know all about the: "Go! Go! Go!... They load pays a hundred million billion dollars!" ... I'd say: "What about my inspection?".... They say: "You didn't do your inspection already? You goofed up! Now Go! Go! Go!... Customer wants it yesterday!" ..... Bunch of idiots.

If you should be released to light duty, where does this take place?
At a location that Prime chooses? Like the main terminal or?

Yes , light duty. But where and how? For me to pull light duty would necessitate their putting me up in a motel? They would be spending more money on my staying in a motel, than would cost beneficial.

Start to finish? I'm looking at a total of three months?
