I bought this truck about 7 months ago. I was immediately disappointed with the fuel economy.
D13, ishift, 2.64, XE
I had a few parameters changed changed, but it hasn't improved. Fuel economy hasn't broken 7.7 mph. I've tried driving 60 - 70mph, but fuel economy doesn't change.
Seems these 2.64 gears want to run at least 65 mph. The engine seems to bog down a bit at 1000 rpms before the transmission downshifts.
I keep gathering Information, but the dealers are clueless and FB groups aren't helping much.
Someone sent me these parameter packages
Economy 85153815
Balanced 85153814
Performance 85153784
Has anyone tried one?

Idle much? It's also winter, in the summer you could gain up to 1 mpg
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I haven't idled since summer.
-
What would you consider to be good mileage...?
P.S. Is your truck white......?stwik and otterinthewater Thank this. -
My last company truck was a Cascadia that regularly got 8.9 mpgs at 70mph with 25k in the box.
I expect this Volvo to match that.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
How was your last Cascadia set up??
-
8.9 in the winter....?
-
All year round. Same route, similar load.

I have the same setup as you and I average 8.4 and usually run light loads. Last summer the average was closer to 9. I idle as little as I can. I also keep the fifth wheel all the way back and I think if I moved it forward and reduced the space between the tractor and trailer I could probably get better mileage. Last summer I played around with speed and mileage driving through Nebraska. If you want decent mileage you need to keep it at 65 or slower. I would probably get close to 9 miles per gallon if I didn’t run 70 to 72 all the time.KB3MMX Thanks this.

Depends on where you run and the weight. You will learn the truck..
I run 63-68 for best economy, depending on terrain and traffic interaction level.
Use the adjustable rollout to maximize economy and minimize jake or brake useage...predict speed bleed offs if you can.
Don't constantly be speeding up and down...... You know all the usual driving tips.
Oh and the XE shouldn't be shifted higher than the green zone it just wantes fuel and engine wear. All power is at the lower rpms with the software.
7.2-7.8 in winter is pretty normal.
Summer you should see 8+ no problem if you're driving efficiently.
9+ with aero trailer, light loads and easy terrain is totally possible in summer.
I use balanced parameters btw
I'd like to try the economy though...
