RadioMods coax length page
Im gonna add a lil tid bit i found to the "NEVER ENDING THREAD" thread..lol -
Using the formula in your link in re to my LMR-240UF coax and my 'home' frequency of 27.185 MHz, I came up with a desired cable length of 15.202 feet. I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble to cut my current 18' length of LMR-240UF down to 15.2'

there was so much crap in that link my toilet overflowed.

Was that with or w/o a seperate swr meter installed? I ran through it briefly and saw that there would be a diff...You have marks 955 right? If so he tunes @ 14.4 v and his bench is set up so that 15'2" is the req length to equal his bench..
What the diff is i couldnt say but if the link i posted is correct im sure it would be a suttle diff....Worth cutting coax i cant say..
I was give basically same math before to..
300/freq =then divide that by 2 and x the coax vf...Answer is in meters so multiply the answer by 3.37 to get the footage vs meters.. -
I guess I'll stick to the 18' I have now.
I have a non-Mark 655, an Anytone At6666 and an export Northpoint.
I didnt have anything hooked up. I just worked the formula in your link Craig and got 15.2'. The metric formula in your post yielded 15.4', so they almost agreeLast edited: Mar 13, 2019
