I've been searching this forum and it has been very helpful
I don't know a trucker IRL, so I apologize in advance if my questions seem silly.
I want to be an OTR driver for 2-3 years.
The thing is I really like working out and I don't want to become completely sedentary.
Do you think I can park at a Planet Fitness and workout/shower during my 10hr break?
Can I stop by a Planet Fitness for a couple of hours if it is along my route and will not make me late to my destination?
Thanks!
Realistically, Can I Park at Planet Fitness & Work Out?

The short answer! In the real world , NO you can't. The freight lanes and schedules dictate where you stop most of the time. This does not mean you can't work out. It just means that you should not expect to see a planet fitness every day. This is hard to understand right now. Now you might be able to get a regional or local job where you can get into one all you want. However as an OTR driver you will be disappointed.
PE_T, Farmerbob1 and Newb2019 Thank this. -
OK thanks for your input!
Once I have a load on my truck, am I pretty much limited to truck stops and rest areas until I drop the load off? -
Not really. It's that they're not necessarily right off the highway, so finding them may be a little difficult. I have worked out at 2 of them, but both of them were near a shipper or receiver that I regularly go to.

Just haul fingerprint loads. That should keep you in great shape. I like hauling tires to Miami.

Some of the TA truck stops have work out rooms.

If they don’t have free weights, it’s not really Working.

The gym near my house shares their parking lot with a K Mart that's been closed for awhile. Lots of trucks park there all the time...
Newb2019 Thanks this.
