Metro went to hell when they stopped being McNutt, I used to know all of their dispatcher by first name basis and vice versa, now, I have no idea who works there.

Hilarious! I’d love to know who is moving this stuff. Still new and not yet with a customer base of our own but we don’t move cheap freight. As O/O we have to think of the industry not just our own biz. Accepting cheap freight hurts the industry. Brokers making double what carriers make. Somehow we’ve (the industry) allowed the ones with the least risk to have the ball. I’ve talked to way too many car haulers who only think about their direct earnings. To me we have to operate with industry standards in mind or we are a part of the problem. Asset based companies should form an alliance and get these large accounts directly. That’s my thought.

 

Hint.. search for vehicle converters. Van conversions, work trucks, catering vehicles, etc. Skip the brokers.

So if I am trying to get oversized sometimes inop units from Farmingham Maine to Concord Mass whats the "fair rate" per unit per mile? Help me out here because I have consitent moves on that lane and have a really hard time finding a carrier
