Sounds like a real issue on your employers side. If you have received a 1099 in error, you need to contact your former employers and ask them to amend the 1099's. If you can't, you need to get with a CPA or Enrolled Agent, and contact the IRS for the right procedure to deal with it.

No need to contact IRS I called the company up and they said thw 2nd one i recieved is the correct one and that the first one wasnt sent to IRS....
-
Get a letter from them , if it turns out they sent both of them to the IRS you will be SOL. Just because they said it doesn't make it true.
-
Well i guess ill have to call in the morning

Anyone know what the interest or penalties are going to be if IRS says i wasnt allowed certain deductions... like if they said im not entitled to a 1400 in refund..
-
Read up on your tax deductions or find a better tax person
-
If your not entitled to the refund then your not entitled... I’m not sure if your $1400 is that big of a deal if you followed the steps correctly.

Keep it simple; let someone that a legal tax preparer do your taxes for you.
