Well that would be next year.

No sign of relief. So far this month, I run 6400 miles to gross $12 700 ... it involved running over weekends too. I stayed home every 2nd or 3rd night but feel tired. Today, there was nothing worthy to book, neither for Monday. I am taking the next week off and will resume in April.KB3MMX, kenn2632 and Midwest Trucker Thank this.

Having a great week on the west coast. Load of fresh veggies heading north and a load of apples heading south. Actually my best week so far.
highwayMike and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
I think you folks in the Midwest are playing catch up from the hard winter. Should start to improve now with the weather.
Midwest Trucker Thanks this. -
A plan that you follow can make it in a down/slow market but who’s to say this might be the actual market without the upbeat everyone’s waiting for

Im leased to a carrier. Was working the boards for freight but the rates are low not much to choose from. So i decided to pull company loads that im leased to. Amazing rates are .50 .60mi better. I see reefer loads on the boards from 1 of our shippers its paying 1425.00 on 558mi Going thru the company i get it for 1825.00 Same lane. Did another lane broker has it at 658.00 . Company im leased to has it for 1000. On 243mi.

Integrity agent told me Friday they just secured a huge contract for few lanes. But the rate they bid on he said he knew for sure Truckers won't pull it. So they gotta do some wheeling dealing to get the loads moved. Basically they gotta make money off of Paul to pay Peter on those loads.
-
Yes that’s true

Better hope your company has some decent length of time on that contract or next thing you know it’ll be gone or the price your pulling for will be much lower. Just because the broker also has it doesn’t mean they are being paid the same as your company.
In fact I would consider it a bad sign that a broker outside of your company has the same loads as it tells me any extra overflow outside the scope of the contract is going to the spot market vs the contracted trucking company. It’s a sign of things to come.Last edited: Mar 23, 2019
