Right now you should be at the point in your career where you can pick and choose where you want to work. However, if you walk into a place telling them you won't go here or there they will pass for a driver who will.

Any one who thinks that just because they went to school, got the degree is automatically due a job after is delusional. Competition for employment is fierce among new or recent grads. Corporate knows this and has raised the hiring criteria and lowered wage scales.

Like anything, you get out of the educational system what you put into it. It is a buyers market. Have noted that some schools are cutting back electives courses to shorten the time frame for completing a degree program.

You obviously want to make money. Go to the oil fields. Make $2,500 per week. That’s low for oil fields. Oil prices are down right now.

To make the best money in trucking: take any load, any time, any place, any weather condition. You have a fear of mountains and snow. To be a truck driver means to be fearless. If you're confining yourself to the favorable parts of the country, it can be difficult to make money. You may have a good week here and there running the or midwest but eventually itll dry up. Also, you need to stay out 3 weeks minimum. Then you will see some real money

OP really didn’t explain anything or provide details of her situation, so it’s a little hard to know what the problem is. If you’re not netting at least $900 per week otr, then you’re doing it wrong. If that’s not enough, then you better figure out a more lucrative career path. Also, learn to communicate while you’re at it, so people can actually figure out what you’re doing wrong.

    Rattlayitdown Thanks this.

You did this to yourself by not doing your homework and preparing. Why are you working for these garbage companies? Get your endorsements and go local or LTL. Where I work people aren't sweating it too much. I've put away so much money.
