There's a bigger chance of getting fired if you are caught covering it up than you are for owning up to it.

Gee, boss, I have no idea how that happened, came out of the truck stop and,,,,
bottomdumpin, Philglo2354 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
You can buy a new flap hanger fri. when you get paid?
Moosetek13 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
You have no idea how many times Ive sprouted those words..
Even when wife stands over me with a pan... lolz.
To the other poster, to laugh is to ease the stress and convert a deadly life changing problem of a 10 dollar flap into something that helps heal. If i did not laugh I would cry at the wussification of the new generation worried about tiny problems in trucking. That tells me pretty well that the lack of old school training is increasingly apparent. -
Id say that but It doesnt look like a truck hit mine, it looks like I hit a pole hahaHermentruck2343 and 201 Thank this.

I was just going to mention that.
It is a small and inexpensive item, that you can replace yourself with basic tools.baha Thanks this. -
I wouldn’t mention a bent mud flap. You’ll probly be rid of that trailer soon anyway

Will you fired for bending the flap hangar? Probably not.
Will you get fired if they find out you did it and that you tried to cover it up? Most likely. Little accidents like this happen and they don't mean much, but if a man will lie about little things that don't really matter he'll sure as hell lie about big things that can hurt you. Once you get made as a liar they'll never trust you again and they'll can you the first chance they get.
Tell the boss what happened. Offer to replace the hangar and the flap out of your own pocket.
