I suppose you could put a hose on the end of one of those large enema blasters and suck the water out instead of blowing it in.

 

,,I'm sorry, but, it's nice to see someone else do something foolish. We've all been there, pal. If your tanks feed from the bottom, you'd have known in 5 miles. Probably not much got in, like running in the rain with the fuel cap off, yeah, I did that, but it's not like a garden hose was stuck in the tank, just some spray. New filters, you'll be fine.

 

Thats pretty funny considering this whole thread, supertrucker.

 

Not trying to be a buster or rude or hurtful...

If you sit and watch, be it this forum or YouTube or in real life, you will see
Trucks
-hitting cars during lane changes,
-not getting out to look while backing into tight spots,
- forgetting about their trailer during turns
-showing up late for appointments
-ripping out fuel nozzles after fueling ,...lots of these things can be remedied by you and I developing good HABITS. What is a habit?

Mr @Ridgeline was suggesting that you develop the practice of walking around your truck, during and after fueling, because after a few weeks,it will become an instinctual Habit. See once it becomes habitual, it will be what you do when your mind is occupied with other thoughts. Wouldn’t you like to be able to “be in a hurry” and still be on point with your duties? Even if your mind isn’t completely in the game, you’re still trucking like a boss, because trucking like a boss will be your habit.

See, Mr Ridgeline, in his post, knows what the deal is, because he made similar mistakes in the past. He was telling you how to make sure to never do that mistake again. And here you go calling him a supertrucker. You owe him an apology.

Made many mistakes but I learned how to check myself to prevent mistakes like this. I've see two mistakes because drivers are sooooo much in a rush and learned by them, one I avoided was leaving the nozzle in a tank and leaving and the other is not capping the fuel tank.

I pass these ideas on to help others, the super trucker type are the ones who act like it is stupid not to listen to people with ideas.

He’s kinda right. Everyone is in a #### hurry all the time easy to forget stuff. Honestly it’s bad to rush yourself that’s when you either forget stuff or hit stuff.

 

I think this problem has actually gotten worse, not better. With the onset of new HOS & ELD’s.

Back in the day (yeh, I’m old) we were considered dangerous for running 4000+ miles a week as a solo.

Now, everyone is RACING the clock. Even in the #### parking lots.

Back in the day, we didn’t race. We fueled, pulled out a new log book, took the time to make it look right. Then eased back out on the road.

The younger guys say we killed too many people working like that. But I can add, you don’t see cars painted dayglo orange/yellow with reflective tape.
