I have roughly 8 months OTR experience, and 1 accident on my DAC report, no injuries were involved, it was over trying to dock the trailer into a tight situation, and the telephone pole was in the way...I followed all safety procedures...and what really ##### me up is, all the other docks were wide open with space..next time I'm just gonna holler at a 'jock' to park the trailer for me. No more risk-taking on my part. Other than that, I consider myself to be a safe-driver.
Also, I was canned from Covenant BECAUSE of my co-driver's screw-up's. He didn't give a #### about the job..I mean, he said he didn't even care if they fired him! Now, how is that my fault, if he ain't trying to hear me out..trying to boss me around and #####.
That's why I don't want nothing to do with team-driving anymore. SOMEBODY HELP ME.
My recruiter wants to get me into CRST, BUT I have to team-drive again! With somebody I don't even know! He could be a ##### for all I know, he could have drug problems, I mean..who wants to deal with that crap? Not me!
And what's even worse is...most companies won't hire somebody outta Michigan. Huh???
I'm willing to re-locate to another state for a solo job.
I don't mean to come off like this, but after all the crap I've been through with other team-drivers, how do you expect me to feel?
Solo driving is all I ask.
Somebody help me.
Thanks

Step away from the recruiter, and do some looking of your own.
If it's a simple trailer damage and not the entire light pole, most companies consider that battle damage.
Without knowing all the details of your job loss. It's hard to say how long it may take you to find a job. But you will find one. -
Why the discrimination towards Michigan drivers?
Is this just your opinion or do others feel the same way? -
Not discrimination. Several companies have told me they won't consider my application with a MI address. If I reapply and use my daughter's address in Ohio, no problem. Their problem is that MI is often a one way street in. Not much going out. So why have drivers based in Mi if they can't get them a load out. For instance, not many auto parts are making their way out these days.

Did you try Churchhill from Detroit? Pretty sure they are a solo outfit with a good rep too.

A little slow at the moment, but allot of flatbed freight goes in and out of there. I am there at least once ever couple of weeks.
I can see there point in it being a one way street though, espically with flatbed freight. I am not sure what there hireing criteria is, bit check Celodon. They haul allot in and out of Canada. If that would not bother you it may be worth a shot.allnite Thanks this. -
Ya, I have sent applications to a load of companies, I took the time to do research here, and read about others experiences.
So far, I've only got a couple offers for Owner Lease. But, that's some serious risk-taking there, and I've got a School Tuition bill to worry about.
If you know of any companies off-hand, or if you could put in a good word for me, let me know. I'm looking for preferably refridgerated runs, Wal-Mart runs (they're killing everyone else in the market), even Dollar Generals would work.
Also, I do plan to re-locate out of Michigan. -
-edit-
As for the guy who asked about the discrimination against Michigan workers, that was what the Recruiter told me...NOT an opinion of mine. I'm going by facts here. -
Thanks, I just e-mailed them an application and will follow-up Monday.

Will check on Celadon today. Thanks.
