any one have suggestions on who to try , and who to avoid . i grew up on a familly farm operating heavy equipment and driveing veichlies that would require a cdl if not for farm exemption. I am currently going for my cdl i have passed every thing on the written test for wisconsin . From genreal knowledge , air brakes , tankers , combination , doubles and triples , passenger , school bus , and hazmat . I am geting my fed med card thursday, and will be getting the rest of the criteria for my hazmat as soon as i can get ahold of the company that does the finger printing . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Check out Roehl trucking in Marshfield.
-
I would agree check out Roehl! Times are tough right now but that would be a start. I would think that some companies would come to your school to recruit, but not sure.

chances are your wasting your money and won't be able to get a job. That part of WI is depressed in the best of times and it's not a great freight lane. Now throw in all the big companies who could get you there but now have hiring freezes and yer up shat creek.
-
You will most definately get a job at Roehl! I assume you havent gone to any school and are just taking the tests for learners permit. Which is great! you'll have to go through Roehls school. Then upon successful completion you will be hired. Even in that "depressed" part of the state! lol
I was gonna go there myself but chose to go with a company with a terminal closer to home. -
thanks for the info , i appreciate it .

Hmmm.. too many millon plus dollar homes for it to be depressed..

Well, if the steel/scrap market ever picks back up..
Reliable recycling just opened a new yard in marinette(I hauled the old truck scale out of there)
The pay their drivers pretty well, and all of their trucks O/O spec petes... very, very nice.. -
Gunville Trucking called me yesterday about a job and wanted to know if I would relocate (they like to hire within a 100 mile radius). They are a little north of marinette. Not sure if they hire students though.
