Ok, now I understand.
That would be very problematic as a truck route then. It would be better to go another way. I personally would try it but that's because I don't know how small is too small in terms of road.
Let's thank you for your help and I guess scrap the 140 idea.tscottme Thanks this. -
Link to truck route map here
OR 140 is length restricted in places, 60 foot max.
See notes for blue routes.jammer910Z, tscottme, rabbiporkchop and 2 others Thank this. -
Reno, 395 north, at susanville
you can stay 395 to Alturas to 299 then 139 to kalamath falls
Or
Take 44 to 89 to 5 then pick up 97 in weed to kalamath falls
No matter what, your going to have some pulls.Lepton1, jammer910Z, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
I is about 300 miles south of you.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

It's got a length restriction.
Something like 40 ft, thought I'm not sure exactly.
I know it's well under 53ft.
It's a treacherous death road thru a national forest.
No mans land.
No phone signal whatsoever.
No nothing.
Scariest mountain I've ever driven on.
You won't see the no truck signs till your so
Far into it,it's too late to turn around.
Don't plan on stopping for any reason.
It's so dangerous that the 4 wheelers won't
Pass you doing 30 mph.
The road is elevated about 15 ft On both sides,
With no shoulder.
If you blink your rolled over in the middle
Of nowhere.
You could easily drive an hour and not see
One other vehicle on the road.
If any cop sees you, your toast.
Everybody knows your not supposed
To be back there.
If you break down, your stuck right in the
Middle of the highway.
Some nut could blow your brains out right
In the middle of the road and Nobody would hear
Or see anything.
I made it thru last year, going from Oregon
to Nevada.
I seen one truck going the other way in 2 hours.
I was loaded.
Definitely had to clean the underwear after that deal.Lepton1, Truckermania, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Dang its that bad eh? Lol i drove down 26 from prineville to john day.. And i tell ya its a peaceful and beautiful drive, windy as hell and some nice grades.. i saw 2 trucks in about 2 hours, 1 was bull hauler the other way a hay wagon.. I love oregon back roads but never been down 140 and by the sound of it i never want to LOLLepton1 Thanks this.

It's definitely a one timer.
There's a mountain out there that's about 5 miles
High.
It curves back and forth all the way up.
15 mph max loaded. Need both lanes to get up it.
You pray you make it to the top before
Another truck comes the other way.
Because he needs both lanes to.
Going up there's nothing on the right shoulder but
A 3 mile drop to the bottom.
I'd rather come down cabbage patch blind
Then do that again.
Any truck failure, your pretty much dead.
I don't think a tow truck could even
Get out of there.Lepton1, SteveScott, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -
140 is restricted to 65ft overall from the NV border to Adel.

#### man now thats fckin crazy i got lost down a road in arkansas one time was restricted to trucks over 40 ft. I found out why about 2 miles later when i came upon a turn rated at 10mph i had my truck on the left shoulder and my trailer tires on right side was barely hanging on the edge of the cliff , i thought boy i hope i aint on the 6 o clock news tonight, luckily that was the worst of it and made it out alive with only my pride beaten up a little bittscottme, Western flyer and x1Heavy Thank this.

It’s about 8% as bad as described above. Lol. Lots of us ran that way with cattle out of the Lakeview area. I had 280” wheelbase pulling a 52ft spread axle trailer and never had any issues other that having to use most of the road on a couple tight corners. From Lakeview the worst part of the road is in the canyon before you get to Adel, and that stretch isn’t even restricted because there’s a cattle feedlot at Adel. Continuing east there is a pretty good pull with a steep drop off, but once you’re up that it’s smooth sailing across the high desert to NV.tscottme, rabbiporkchop and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
