The whole point of macro point is so it knows where the phone is therefore the truck and the load.......... no driver input required...
Been a long time since I've been asked to use it. I just send an email every night or morning with location update. Guess maybe that's a perk of being the best in the biz...
Thouren and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
When macro point became popular to use some years ago, I told my friend I was going to buy a cheap phone. I would give the broker the number to that phone and the phone to my friend who also drives. That way when they tracked the phone it would be clear across the country form me. That would be priceless to see expression on brokers face.

I do keep getting text saying I need to approve the app and down load it. That is annoying all on its own. But the app will be running during that time. Go figure!
-
The app could be running on your phone 24/7, but unless you click on the link that the broker sends you it will not report your location to broker. Usually the broker will send you a link to download the app, then click on link to activate for that broker, that trip. If app is already on your phone all you need to do is clink on link to accept tracking. Once trip is complete if you are like me and are paranoid/tin foil hat kind of guy, just delete the macro point app. Next time you need to use it re-download app.Midwest Trucker and Siinman Thank this.
-
It doesn't actually track you after the load is complete. The tracker (broker) pays MP a small fee for each use. But I agree. I get rid of any extra junk on my phone as well lol
-
You know that makes sense. I guess I always check in and out so figured if I opened the app it would be fine. Will try that next time and see if that is my problem.jamespmack, Midwest Trucker and Expeditor Thank this.

Thank for the common sense Rollin Coaljamespmack Thanks this.

A good idea to read the fine print.
You may be surprised to find out what the app is doing. You have to dig down to find it, using the app you agree to allow it to track you 24/7 for 30 days.
Even after your select the delivered/compleated/stop button.jamespmack Thanks this.
