Leaving St. Lewie last week heading for Chi-Town, congratulating myself on an incident free passage, when I glanced over at a medium sized, basic RV that had a DOT # placard in it's passenger side window passing me. What's up with that? It didn't look special. Pulling one of those little run arounds a lot of those folks pull. Couldn't figure it out. Travelling group of Lizards needing a commercial licence or something? So enlighten me!

It's possibly a medical transport. Since those kinds of patients use Opiates or other classes of very attractive medicines to predators, a plain looking RV with the barest minimum markers like that DOT number etc would not stand out as steal me, loot me, shoot me, drugs in here etc.
I am capable of taking patients to the hospital during winter storms, one at a time plus attendant in my personal vehicle in our area with 4 wheel drive. But it's volunteer only.
Those transports are a increasing in number as our Population gets sicker and require increasing numbers of health care special not available where they live.FearTheCorn Thanks this. -
might be a vehicle transport co.,(drive away) moving it .
Tb0n3 and brian991219 Thank this. -
Likely an RV transport company.

To the two posts above, I thought about that. But it was definitely being lived in.

One of the entertainers at the casino hires RVs to move from show to show. If the RV is for hire it would need a DOT number, no?
brian991219 Thanks this. -
If it wasn't driveaway it could have been an entertainer's coach. They are commercial motor vehicles and require DOT numbers, they are treated as a private carrier of passengers by FMCSA. Perhaps it was another business type application as well, mobile medical lab, portable office, etc?
Now, it could have been driveaway, I have seen repossessed RV's delivered to auction by driveaway companies and they would likely have the "lived in" look. -
Good thing you didnt get the DOT # and look it up. That wouldn't have told you anything.

rental RV's have no DOT #
