Don't buy a truck question is mute

 

How would the carriers know? O/o may have taken their truck to a different carrier. Or parked it at home. Or sold the truck for any number of reasons. Really it's none of the carriers business... it is solely the o/o's business. A lot of people will tell you only fools own trucks. Generally the ones who tried it and thought they'd be swimming in money and had no real plan how to make that actually happen are the naysayers. Simply owning the truck is not a golden ticket to easy street.

 

It absolutely should be that way! This is a free market! Like any business venture entered into, if you do your due diligence, know your numbers,have adequate financial assets, minimize your risk and liability, know your worth, provide good service, and have a positive attitude, then your chances of survival are increased . But there is no promise for success just because you want it to be so. And there should not be one. Supply and demand and the ability to consistently turn a profit in all economic climates are the only rules.
