Seems to be a lot of conflictng answers on here with regards to cooking with propane or butane in the truck...I can't have an inverter in my truck and I'd really like to be able to cook...I see some people have done it for a while....
What's the issues ?Are there any ?
Obviously I know of the fire hazard, and would be careful with that....Are the fumes a major concern ? Or would just cracking the windows be ok ? Or maybe crack the windows with a small fan blowing air out work ?
Cooking with Gas in Truck ? Yay or Nay ?

I stopped cooking with propane in my truck after seeing pictures of the truck in a walmart parking lot that completely blew apart in pieces from the explosion. I'll see if I can find the link.

It's those green cylinders. I don't even carry a propane torch because of the possible risk of them leaking. It's just not worth it.D.Tibbitt and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

All you have to do is bump it, then the bed is on fire.
Let's say you get it out. Bed is thrashed, truck filled with smoke.
Most people aren't hip to how much smoke accumulates quickly in a confined space, and things can get out of hand quickly.

Yeah, then just dump the hot coals in the trash at the fuel island, then take your food back up to the cab to enjoy during your 30 min break.
Those drivers honking their airhorns and cussing you out are just jealous that THEY don't have hot, fresh-grilled goodness!

That's a fire hazard being that close to the fuel pumps. You should take the hot coals inside and dump them through the hole in the counter by the rolo-dogs.Lumper Humper, homeskillet, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.
