Truck shutdown April 12th

At least we can get a 3 day weekend out of the deal. Wooohoo

 

I don’t know. We have some great owner operators here that make a great living with all these end of the world regulations. How is that possible? Even as a company driver on ELDs I am able to be successful. I just don’t like the doom and gloom mentality. It’s not as dramatic as people want it to be.

 

The next Friday, I'll be loaded Thursday the 11th and on my way home for the weekend. Am I supposed to stop for the whole Friday somewhere in Des Moines, IA and arrive home on Saturday ? Well...let me think about it... but I think, I'd rather get home early.

Besides, I don't like black smoke. That's what DPFs are for.

 

I personally don't want truckers shutting down for more than one day at this time. One day will make a point to be considered. The FMCSA is reviewing hours of service,we don't want to alienate them but to show them that we are watching and waiting for change

They really missed the mark by choosing April 12.

 

We are still a minority until the American people get behind us. This energy would be better spent collecting $1-$10 from every trucker to make a commercial on national television and YouTube add that would run throughout each year.

A commercial promoting the benefits of trucking in America and highlighting the service of the people going out there to do it.

 

I've heard all kinds of talk that they are gonna block the highways, protest, go into small towns and protest. Who knows what will actually happen. They all might just end up on the couch together.

 

I've always wondered why it doesn't take place in the dead of winter when things are slow.
