Got to love the morons that do that.. Or the ones merging into freeway from ramp , instead of using the merging lane to gain speed they just dart right out into traffic like they are the only ones on the road
unfortunately the shock value is no longer around

In my 30 years of driving I've never seen so many reckless truck drivers. So diwn, leave an out, drive defensively.
Texas Rebel, stwik, D.Tibbitt and 4 others Thank this. -
A few weeks ago a minivan with a good quarter mile of merging lane left simply tried to merge right into my lane only problem was I was still in it! It was move or get hit with a split second to decide. I saw her coming and reacted when I realized she wasn't going to stay in her lane I basically moved to the left at the same time i was turning my head to see, luckily there was no one there.
Thinking back I probably should have just held my lane and let her hit me since if I had hit someone changing lanes I would have had a tough time proving who's at fault.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

yup..Walcott is a perfect example getting back on 80 either going east or west CSA Wonder Boys do it all the time..and the funny thing is there's a sign that says truck acceleration Lane next three quarter -
Ive had too many darwins both trucks and cars pull straight out off shoulder at 5 mph. People are going to die today if I do not have a rabbit out of hat. You have time to do one thing without hemming, hawing, hesitation etc. Even doing nothing or worse taking too long to act is against you.
We were trapped with a 87 coe and a roadranger 10 with a crappy cummins 300 in I-476 associating with US 30 thereabouts against two ridges and two full up rush hour flowing of cars.
Trainer looked at me and say this day ends one of two ways, both of us at home safe or both of us not going home anytime soon. (Hospital? Arrest? Indictment? Death? etc) We buried the RPMs to 2400 and drag shifted that thing heaping abuse on the clutch and jaking engine down to beat on engine to get to shiftable gear asap yesterday.
We were on the tripmaster system computer that in it's first generation electronics recorded our driving. What we put on that machine made for some big time yelling for a week. How dare we hurt the truck, how stupid have we been throwing away the bonus that week, what are we thinking in terms of public safety. (When that came out I had no choice but to drop to the floor and laugh big Poohbah safety boss OUT of his own office. The laughing was very good medicine for me. But it really made him so angry he ordered me to take a drug test.)
A thousand drugs could not do with me what that period of laughing did in terms of healing from that day.
A goodly number of braking sounds behind us. That rubber group remained on the pavement 6 months. I don't know how those people failed to hit each other and us. It's a miracle.
If I sit down anywhere there are drivers and told the story in a ordinary manner, they cry BS. Lunch counter etc. But no. This is what actually happened.Bud A., allniter, Trucker Kev Paid Tourist and 2 others Thank this. -
I think op got the date wrong. This one if February matches the description.
Victims identified: Three killed in multiple-vehicle accident on I-65x1Heavy, Bud A., mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
ever watch a game show where they are trying to win as much money as possible while a clock is ticking, same concept
-
wait untill all elog systems switch to where it puts you on the driveline when you move the truck, you aint seen nothin yet.

Not really a good comparison unless you want to add some life threatening scenarios into it. I could be as big an ####### as some of these others out here, (my truck is capable of triple digit speeds), but I choose not to even though I have an ELD computer on the truck. I don't tailgate, speed through parking lots or take my break on the side of the road. If I feel like taking a nap, I take a nap. Am I hungry? I'll get something to eat. I drive the truck, the truck doesn't drive me .Bud A., Tombstone69 and tarmadilo Thank this. -
Now that's a concept I can agree with, I don't care how many electronic gizmo's you hook up to the truck, I'm still in charge and Ill do what I want when I want. As long as I'm not endangering myself or someone else, what are "they"going to do, spank me(as long as it's a good looking woman, be my guest).Bud A., lovesthedrive and HoneyBadger67 Thank this.
