These politicians always have to have a war on something to get votes/support/money. In the "south", the agenda is just different but there are bs politics going on every where .

As a trucker, it is a pain to be regulated at every turn. As a dad with a little boy, I'm glad there's some efforts to control pollution.

Worked for a small 2 truck company 3 years ago. My boss would never let me idle even when below freezing. One night I pulled into a truck stop in New Mexico and it was about 20 outside. Found an empty spot and backed in. Looked over at the truck next to me and it was my boss asleep and he was idling all night. So I didn't say anything and started letting my truck idle on cold nights. He called me up and asked why, and I told him I saw him idling and gave him the place and time. He never said another word after that.

I did pay it and didn't fight it. I forget the maximum but it has jail time. I worked for free that day and some of the next. I've had worse weeks.

Denver will at random, when they held the DNC in Denver for Obama's first time, they were prohibiting the OTR trucks waiting in the queue to unload from idling. Of course, the media/Secret Service/DNC officials had massive tents that were powered by massive CAT generators that idled for 5 straight days, those things pump out as much pollution as a steamship. Then to top it off, they blocked off a ton of streets leading to Mile Hi Stadium, they blocked the streets with City trash trucks, which sat idling for 2 days with guys sleeping in the them.
