Good businessman.
Mike, nicknamed "pruner" for his skill at shaving trees with his trailer, took over the office and pretty much ran things.
sad to hear Clark is not as good as it once was.
Still have to be better than Upstaging ..

please tell me where I can make $500 a day sitting? I have yet to find any company out there willing to give up that kind of money. and where do you work for a grand a day clear?
-
If we told you then everybody would contact the customer, competition would drive the rate down, and eventually someone would sit for $100 a day ruining the whole thing.

Holy Crap!!!! Stumbled across this site and had to join after reading the comments, especially those of mikec265. I do not believe I have ever met Mike since I left Clark after 5 years in 08, but I sure wish I had been in the office whenever he had come in, just too see the look on Jeff and Cindi's face and watch them scamper away....lolo. So I guess I must be another brain dead driver since I just purchased a truck and is going back to Clark Transfer at the begining of the new year....Hell, I dunno. different strokes for different folks I guess, I hear what he is saying, and even agree with some of it. All I can say is that in my measely 30 year O.T.R. driving career, 18 in a big truck and 12 in a tour bus, both as a Teamster and non, my time at Clark was the most enjoyable job driving. It's a whole other animal and unique world from normal freight, dealing with Performers, Stars, and yes, even the legends in their own minds dispatchers, office persons.
Metallica88 and nonsense007 Thank this. -

J.F.K. trucking & mechanical services
I worked for Clark for 3 years and they are a great bunch of people,Drivers and personal .
I averaged $2,100. per. week after fuel and insurance plus the bonuses more than pay for the plates. this kind of work is not for everyone but if you use your head you can make very good money . you've got to realize singles drive less than 80,000 miles per year , very lite loads, big fuel savings , 1 free truck wash per month , $150. per day when there's nothing to move , ect. the only reason I don't work there anymore is because I own property in Houston and I opened a truck mechanics shop & monthly parking lot for trucks. anyone looking to work for Clark and wants an honest opinion of Clark can call Frank ketschek @ DeletedLast edited by a moderator: Dec 19, 2016

I have been in the entertainment business for over 40 years. I have worked logistics. I have seen trucking companies come and go. You get to be where Clark Transfer is by screwing their drivers over. I had a good friend who drove fr them as an O/O and drove for them for over 20 years till the day he passed away in 2001. I am still in the business and have seen other drivers who have been with Clark for well over 20 years. Just like any industry you will find people who are just not the right fit and start bad mouthing.
In his case he had a dedicated tour with the road show of Cats. If the show was going to be in one location for over a certain amount of time the dispatch office would set him up with various drop and hook loads till at least 2 days prior to the shows load out. He got paid for down time and dead heading back to location. He lived in Central New Jersey and if he wanted to go home they would find him a load that would get him close to home. He got paid very well. Well enough to have paid off his house and his 1999 Volvo tractor.
Clark Transfer like a few other companies that specialize in show and concert tours work differently than companies like Swift Werner or J B Hunt who are strictly freight.
One reason they advertise for drivers is a seasonal thing. Mainly for late spring through summer and early fall there is a good deal of stadium concert tours. Your normal arena tours depending on the act can have as many as 8 trailers. Stadium tours can have double that or more.kbarttt Thanks this. -

Wanted to check and see if your still at Clark? I'm looking to make a move and trying to find some information. What should I suspect if I made the move to Clark. Do they have a guarantee pay?
