But I needed the spot for 3 days, what is so difficult to understand about that? Normally I’m off on the weekend, but there was crappy weather coming in so I made the choice to take a load to Tulsa and sit down there instead of fighting the weather farther north. The manager had no issue with it so why should you? And besides, who are you to say what’s reasonable or not? I’m sure they’d like to have me spend $500 on fuel and park for 3 days than have someone pull in for ten hours, cook in their truck, go inside to crap, and leave without spending a dime.
Also, some of us don’t need to chase miles and start rolling as soon as our 10 or 34 are up. The company I’m leased to does food grade pneumatic so I do just fine running as few miles as possible.

I was here first. It was my priorityto do so as I know what kind of crap show was going to happen at my "destination"., As an OTR driver BTW... I'm not here as a local just wanting to find free truck parking while I go home. I'm here to relax after running my butt off.
Not my problem. You (should) know you won't make it in time to secure a parking spot. You think it's just you with this problem? You have to eat crap and stop early to figure outout park. You want to push the theroetical possiblitys of where you could park, be a dispatcher...
It's not that easyD.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
10 then leave, shoot man I hate setting up my shade lawn chairs and barbeque pit just to use it once or twice, I say 3 days minimum. lol

The TA in Wheeling is used as a drop lot for oilfield companies, mostly sand haulers. It sucks but I’ve been on both sides as I just spent 7 years in this area fracking. All the reviews online complain of this. But I imagine TA making so much money off these guys that they won’t ever tell them to move. Been this way for years.

If you want to park for 3 days go to your companies terminal and park or at the minimum leave your truck in a reserved spot for 3 days. That’s what I would do if I were going to take a few days off and weren’t near a terminal. Also when I’ve stopped at these places it has been early like in before 4. If I stopped in at midnight I can understand it being full but not early afternoon.Last edited: Apr 17, 2019

You realize that the majority of drivers and owner operators choose not to work for or with the large bottom feeder companies that would have a terminal in a major city, right? You throw out “go to a terminal” like it’s an option for everyone and it’s not.

Not that it really matters but isn't there truck parking behind that casino, I could swear there is and I just went past there today, didn't pay that much attention I guess though.

The J in Tulsa, full to nearly capacity every time I've made the mistake of pulling in there, the QT there is the same story after about 6. The Loves at the Aurora, NE exit is almost always full. There are some truck stops that are just always full, just the way it is.
