To be honest, I don’t know where the leak was. I had an independent a/c guy come out, he used his Freon sniffing tool, didn’t see leaks on the fittings. Maybe the compressor itself. I know of one guy who’s lasted so far for years. I got about a year and a half I think. But your bracket looks real good, maybe you don’t have that issue.

The window bracket is made from plywood.
There are two pieces of plywood screwed to the flat board that the AC sits on.
The window glass comes up between the two pieces of plywood and stabilizes everything.
I made a cardboard pattern of the window opening first and then transferred it to the wood and then cut them out.

Comfort Pro here, on a new Volvo 760 with factory webasto bunk heater.

My Comfort Pro is the last generation, before they updated the belt system and extended the service intervals to 2000hrs. I had a Tripac Evo on a company T680 before this.

    The Good
-The 6000W generator will power anything, even on full heat or AC.
-The Control unit is amazing, you can set it up to do almost anything.
-The Integration into the trucks cooling system is pretty clean, and provides good pre-heat to both the truck and APU.
-The Unit is rock solid reliable, and VERY well built, it weights more than a TK due to all the steel in it.
-The Service is easy and cheap if you do it yourself, or go to Speedco.
-It seems to run WAY cleaner (Exhaust) than my TK ever did, even after a service/tune-up.
-I like the carrier dealers WAY BETTER than the Corporate TK ########.

    The Bad
-The AC is not as cold as a TK, even after a re-charge and warranty checkup, its just not. Heard this several times now from Carrier guys, who ran TK's before.
-It's way louder than a TK, because it needs to rev higher to turn a 6K generator. I had a custom exhaust made, that made it much quieter.
-The battery monitor system is VERY finicky, when i'm home, I just set it to cycle once a day for an hour, instead of letting it draw the batteries down and then starting up.
-The old link belt system is a pain, the new serpentine is awesome (and 2K service VS 1K) so make sure you're getting the new one, and not a leftover link belt version.

I've tested the fuel consumption of my truck on 700rpm high idle vs the APU on full heat and AC. The truck (D13) is 1 Gallon Per Hour and the APU is 0.10G per hour; so it really is worth it. Not to mention keeping hours off the emissions system/def consumption.

Also remember you get the 400lb weight exemption with any APU.

Overall, i'm very happy with the comfort pro, it has 1550 hours now, and has had 0 issues (except low charge, but that was the idiots who installed it). My TK by the same hours in the company truck, had 12 hours of warranty work. Oh and I got in on a promotion, my unit came with 10 000 hours of warranty, so that's pretty cool.

I really love it for those 36 hours resets in Laredo, AC on full, fridge ice cold, TV/Xbox going, with all devices charging lol.

Sure thing, yea with the stock shorty pipe, its ridiculous. A buddy of mine for the DPF option, and its quieter than a TK.
