My buddy drives a X15 with ultrashift, says it's a pure garbage combination. His previous truck was x15 with 13 speed and it pulled really good, but this automatic is horrendous. Oh and the first X15 he had, had almost it's entire def system replaced within the first month, but it seemed to be alright after that
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Probably was related to the ac compressor cycling.. Even in winter.
Yeah the "X" is a mile better than the ISX , so far it's been a big improvement.
Given that you can't get 2050tq X15 in Volvo....
I'd prob still go D13 but with XE+TC so it's got more low RPM available power. -
That's so bizarre, it's the same Transmission essentially just automated shifting.
My guess is crap parameters... Not the engine being the problem and yeah the first ones had some software issues
Again... I'd go D13-TC
No VVT turbo to fail on the TC either -
no matter what you decide to go with, go with the best warranty you can buy. Not sure the price of warranty up to 750k but compared to the price of a 140k truck and a turbo going down taking out dpf and scr and all sensor which would be well over 10k its more than worth it.

With rates where they are. I would go buy an old piece of crap and run the heck out of it before I would dump cash on a new shiny. Just my 2 cents.

Also wait a bit. In about 3-5 months there are gonna be plenty of repo specials to pick from. Trust me.
MartinFromBC, mp4694330, Newto Trucking and 1 other person Thank this. -
Get the D13 engine with 500hp/1850 torque, and the ishift.
